James Deahl
Deahl grew up in the Laurel Highlands area, where his family had lived since 1823. He moved to Canada at the age of 25 and has since held dual citizenship for Canada and the USA. He held the Chair of Literature and Creative Writing at Seneca College and Ryerson University.
Internationally renowned pioneering Jamaican-Canadian dub poet. Named a cultural champion for the City of Toronto is a two-time Canadian Juno Award winner, cultural strategist, arts activist,
and creative writing professor.

Poet Laureate of Brantford & Poet Laureate of Norfolk. In 2005 John B. Lee was inducted as Poet Laureate of Brantford in perpetuity. The same year he received the distinction of being named Honourary Life Member of The Canadian Poetry Association and The Ontario Poetry Society. In 2007 he was made a member of the Chancellor’s Circle of the President’s Club of McMaster University and named first recipient of the Souwesto Award for his contribution to literature in his home region of southwestern Ontario and he was named winner of the inaugural Black Moss Press Souwesto Award for his contribution to the ethos of writing in Southwestern Ontario. In 2011 he was appointed Poet Laureate of Norfolk County (2011-14) and 2020 he was appointed the Poet Laureate of the CCLA Canada Cuba Literary Alliance. In 2015 Honourary Poet Laureate of Norfolk County for life and in 2017 he received a Canada 150 Medal from the Federal Government of Canada for “his outstanding contribution to literary development both at home and abroad.”

Originally from Memramcook. NB resides in Shediac for the last 32 years. A bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in education (Guidance Counseling). Gilles has been writing poetry and lyrics for songs since high school mostly in French. Over 30 of his written lyrics are published songs by mostly southeastern singers and bands. Brian J. Francis Author, Poet, Photographer, Director-Producer Brian J. Francis of Elsipogtog First Nation is an accomplished filmmaker. His major concern is the survival of the Mi’kmaq people and their culture. For many years, Brian managed the Juno award-winning aboriginal recording artists, Eagle Feather. He spearheaded the development and production of the APTN series, Eastern Tide, and more recently, Wabanaagig. Brian won 5 international awards for the feature documentary, Circle of Justice, which screened at 17 film festivals around the world, debuted at the Smithsonian Institute, Bear Paw Productions aired on APTN, CBC, and IFC. Brian then went on to direct The Sacred Sundance for the National Film Board of Canada. Brian has produced, directed, and has written over 70 documentaries. Most recently Brian released his first book; “Between Two Worlds- Spiritual Writings and Photographs". In addition, Brian is a community activist, a spiritual practitioner, a plant medicine knowledge keeper, and a crab and lobster fisherman in the Northumberland Strait and the Bay of Fundy. In 2020, Brian was the recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Dialogue Award for his work as an ambassador for bringing people together and a protector and keeper of the Mi’kmaq language.

Stedmond Pardy is a self-educated, left-handed Poet of Caribbean Canadian ancestry (Newfoundland and st.kitts/ Nevis) from the lakeshore Mimico area. His first full-length book of poetry "the pleasures of this planet aren't enough" was published by Mosaic Press in the spring of 2021.
Rudyard (aka rudy) Fearon is the author of four collections of poetry, and children's books. He is profiled in the television documentary series " heart of a poet". He is known as a performance poet, and for his minimalist style of writing. His papers are currently being collected by the University of Toronto Thomas Fisher's rare book library. He is a former host and board member of the art bar reading series.
